Kitchen FAQ

A few facts that hopefully explain some industry jargon and some detail on the kitchens available at Spring Mill Kitchens Direct.


What are your doors made of?

There are three types of doors in our collection.

Timber: Real wood door.

Continuous pressure laminate: An MDF board covered with laquered compressed paper.

Vinyl Wrap: An MDF board covered with a PBC vinyl.

What is the carcasing made of?

Cabinets are constructed from 18mm HD (High Density) melamine faced chipboard.

What is Blumotion soft close action?

All our hinges and drawers are manufactured by Blum. When you close either a door or drawer a 'Soft Close' mechanism closes the door/drawer quietly for you. You will never have to hear a door or drawer slam shut again!

What does 'High Line' & 'Drawer Line' mean?

High-line refers to a full hight door. Drawer-line refers to a door that has space for a drawer to go above it.

What is 'Cornice' & 'Light Pelmet'?

Cornice and light pelmet are the finishing arcatrave that goes above and below your wall units, respectively.
